At ARC Business Solutions, we are fortunate to work alongside people with a wide range of experience, perspectives, and expertise. This month, we’re especially proud to feature one of our own: Bobbi Fergstad Bryksa, Telecom Strategic Advisor with ARC Business Solutions, who has recently published her debut book, The Coherence Complex: How to Trust What You Already Know.
With more than 20 years of experience leading complex organizations across telecommunications, energy, and legal operations, Bobbi has spent much of her career navigating change, complexity, and difficult decisions. Along the way, she became increasingly interested in a deceptively simple question: Why do we so often distrust what we already know?
Learning to Trust Your Own Discernment
From childhood, we’re taught to look outward for answers, to experts, data, algorithms, opinions, and an endless stream of information. While those resources are valuable, Bobbi explores what can happen when all that external noise begins to drown out our own ability to perceive patterns, exercise judgment, and trust our experience.
The Coherence Complex brings together neuroscience, psychology, systems thinking, philosophy, pattern recognition, and Bobbi’s own professional and personal experiences to explore how we develop and sometimes lose trust in ourselves.
Importantly, the book isn’t an argument for abandoning logic or relying blindly on intuition. Instead, Bobbi presents a practical framework for bringing analytical thinking and inner wisdom together, allowing us to make clearer and more confident decisions.
Finding Coherence in Complexity
Throughout the book, Bobbi examines how our experiences shape the way we make decisions and how we can become better at recognizing the patterns that create coherence in our work, relationships, leadership, health, and everyday lives.
Readers will explore how to recognize the subtle ways we learn to distrust ourselves, distinguish intuition from fear or wishful thinking, strengthen decision-making, and understand the role that boundaries, values, and lived experience play in discernment.
The ideas are particularly relevant in today's environment, where leaders and professionals are expected to process more information, make decisions faster, and navigate increasingly complex situations
As Bobbi puts it: “Coherence isn’t manifested. It’s built.”
