ROLE: SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT
MANDATORY
1. Working in data processing environment (Minimum 8 years)
2. Working as an Architect [Technical, Data, Application, Security] (Minimum 5 years)
3. Ability to work effectively with all levels of an client organization
4. Successful track record as an Architect. Specifically, someone who can grasp an organization's strategy, processes, information, and information technology assets to recommend and implement solutions that meet the needs of the business.
5. Demonstrable project experience in showing how current and future needs of an organization were met in an efficient, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner
6. Interpersonal and leadership skills – team leadership, collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills
7. Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand
8. Knowledge of IT governance and operations
9. Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering
10. Project and program management planning and organizational skills
11. Customer service orientation
12. Time management and prioritization
13. Systems Thinking - the ability to see how parts interact with the whole (big picture thinking)
14. A minimum of 2 client references from your most recent projects are required to confirm these mandatory’s
DESIRABLE
1. Experience of working in Government, Crown Corps or the Utilities sector (oil, gas, power, etc.)
2. Business experience in delivering solutions to Provincial Departments of Energy and/or Oil & Gas Environments.
3. Experience documenting business rules, processes and data models
4. Experience developing business cases or business case summaries
5. Experience in Business Process Reengineering
6. Experience facilitating workshops or JAD sessions
7. Experience with Rational Unified Process (RUP) or UML
8. Experience designing solution in multiple technical environments
9. Experience designing Enterprise applications
10. Experience designing solutions in Oracle or SQLServer development environments
11. Experience designing web-based or client server solutions
12. Understand benefits of and recognize when to - buy versus build
13. Experience selecting and implementing COTS solutions
14. Experience working on a legacy replacement project from discovery through implementation.
15. Experience facilitating business process re-engineering on a project
16. Experience that demonstrates advanced analytical skill in working with large volumes of data
17. Demonstrated exemplary written and oral communication skill
18. Ability to manage conflict and achieve consensus (decisions)
Degree designations (e.g., Bachelor of Science, Computing Science) and/or vendor technical certifications are desirable criteria for our selection.
